The Team That Came To Be

Last Friday, my morning started with a good news. I checked the status of the application of my work pass for my 2nd company and it turned out to be approved. I was so happy about that news because at least,  I have a job now and I can be with Doms here in Singapore. But, my good news was damped by the bad news that I got when I signed in for YM.

Mil messaged me right away when I went online. He told me that the KB team were part of the 2nd wave of retrenchment in Lawson. I cannot believe the news at first. I panicked because I was thinking of my beloved team mates and particularly my former boss, Mama Mel. I know this will affect not only the KB team but the other teams as well. I immediately called Ana but her phone was out of reach so I called up Lorie. She answered with urgency and she admitted she thought I was a company calling her. With this short international call, “Phone patch from SG” as they call it, I was able to talk with Lorie, Ana, Mark C and Harry.

To all the KB Team members, you are all exceptional and talented writers and leaders at your own will. Look at this retrenchment as a challenge and not as a hindrance for your career development. Good luck with all your job applications. In God’s will, you will all have the right job for you.
