Mommy Blogger

Posted on

I really wish that my dream to become a “Mom-Blogger” will come to life when I start my maternity leave. Ever since I discovered blogging, I dreamt that I will have my own domain name, I get to place ads on my blog, get invited to “Mom-Blogger” events and eventually earn from posting blogs.

But up to now, I started blogging 2004, only one thing has happened, I only have a domain name. No ads, no invites to events and no earnings.

Hay, I really don’t know how to start. I read online that I need to have a domain name, then a wordpress.ord hosted site and that’s it.

But how come I still cannot create and host my own blog? Hay ya, ya, yay…

Drake’s First Birthday

Posted on Updated on

I always write Drake a letter on his “monthsary”. In those letters I always mention how proud we are of his accomplishments and milestones of growing up. On his first birthday, instead of writing Drake a usual letter, I wrote him a more emotional letter. Here it is:

Dear Drake Anthony,

Happy first birthday Little Boy! For your first birthday I will not mention any of your milestones. It’s not because I’m not proud of them. I’m very proud of all the things you can now do Drake. It’s just that today, I want to say sorry.

Yes. I want to aologize to you for being a bad mother. You’re such a wonderful boy even perfect to my eyes but here I am, so imperfect for you. I can’t even understand why I was given the chance to be your Mom.

For more than half of your first year, I was away, working. Instead of being with you day and night, I chose to be far to continue with work.

You’re wonderful milestones that I am very proud of happened mostly without us witnessing it which totally breaks my heart because those milestones will never happen again. I just saw them in photos or in videos but I am still very proud of you Drake.

I really wish I can turn back the past year and just decided to be with you. It would have been different. But things happen for a reason. I learned a lot from what transpired and I am hoping that your next year will be different.

I love you Drake! There are no words to describe how much I love you. On this day I wish you all the best in your life. I love you and I won’t stop saying that until I can. Continue being happy and healthy.

We are celebrating your 1st birthday here in Sentosa so it will be different. I know that even if I was a bad mother to you, God gave me you and I will do everything to take care of you and make you happy and hive you a wondeful life you deserve.

With lots and lots of love,
Mommy and Daddy

I am so happy that our Drake is now 1. We celebrated his birthday by going on an overnight “stay-cation” in Festive Hotel, Resorts World Sentosa. We also went to see S.E.A. Aquarium.

We all enjoyed the day and out staycation was great because we get to spend time with our Little Boy. The party celebration that happened the weekend after our hotel stay was done in Manila. Watch out for the next post!

River Safari Adventure

Posted on Updated on

One of our goals when Drake visits Singapore again is to bring him to River Safari. Now that he’s here, we decided to bring him there together with Lola.

River Safari is the newest addition to Wildlife Reserves of Singapore. It is located between Singapore’s two most visited wildlife parks: Singapore Zoo and Night Safari. River Safari offers a one of kind adventure inspired by the world’s most iconic rivers.

We took a cab from our place to Mandai Lake which only took around 10 minutes. When we got to the place, the queue was quite long.

We had photo ops around the entrance of River Safari first.

When we went inside, we were greeted by two cute mascots representing  Kai Kai and Jia Jia, the two adorable envoys from China.

Drake was not that happy to see the mascots. As you can seen from the photo above, he was trying to get away from them.

Inside River Safari, we strolled through the park and discovered the secrets of the Mississippi, Congo, Nile, Ganges, Murray, Mekong and Yangtze rivers. We saw different see creatures and their habitats.

Drake enjoyed the aquariums so much. He like moving things like fishes so he was into them.

We also went to visit the real panda bear.

As you can see there was only one panda and he was sleeping lazily at the background.

After roaming around the place, we decided to eat at Mama Panda Kitchen. Prices of the food were steep! To think we just ordered simple food. But I liked the Panda Pau and Drakey loved it too!

All in all, I liked our river Safari Adventure but I am not raving about it. They should have added more “blings” around the area like activity kiosks for kids or hourly shows about the animals and fishes. For $25 per head, I wouldn’t go back there in the near future.

Also, they should have added more dining options. Mama Panda Kitchen was a rip-off and will advise anybody who tires to eat there to just try the panda pau and nothing else.

Anyway, that was an experience and either way, we still enjoyed the day because we were with Drake.

Congratulations Mark and Bern Doherty

My sister got married yesterday and I had mixed feelings about it mainly because I really really wish we were there to celebrate with the rest of the family. But just the same, I was updated by my brother with photos with what’s happening.

Here are some photos.

Congratulations Mark and Bern! I really wish that Doms, Drake and I were there. Love you both!
